BLS / First-Aid / CPR / AED – The BLS Healthcare Provider Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. Basic Life Support, or BLS, generally refers to the type of care that first-responders, healthcare providers and public safety professionals provide to anyone who is experiencing cardiac arrest, respiratory distress or an obstructed airway.  BLS cards are valid for two years from the date on your certificate. If your American Red Cross BLS certification is about to expire (or has expired and you’re within 30 days of its expiration), you can enroll in an abbreviated BLS course (a review course) and get recertified for two more years.
